About projo

Projo is a product-first company. We have developed a comprehensive ERP for architects and engineers. Our customers use projo to write quotes and invoices, administer their staff and plan and control their projects.

“product first” means marketing & sales second: we are convinced that over-investing in a good product leads to much better growth in the long term.

And yes, Basecamp is (in some parts) an inspiration for us.

We are currently a team of 12 people and have a nice and cozy office in Berlin Mitte at Rosenthaler Platz. We do a mix of office and home-office.

Job overview

We are currently 5 developers and want to slowly build up a bigger team.

Our development process is very agile:

- Our customers publish their feature ideas on this public board

- Our product manager clarifies the issues and defines the priority

- We develop quickly and receive immediate feedback. Beware! Pleasing customers can be addictive 😉

Of course, not all development is features. We take the time to make sure we are always reducing tech debt more than we add it, enhance documentation, and attempt to simplify our system.

We try to keep our tech stack up to date as best we can.

- Ruby on Rails 7

- Stimulus/Turbolinks

- Bootstrap 5

- PostgreSQL

- Sidekiq/Redis

- Hosted on Heroku

Qualifications

We hire of all levels, underneath we list the expectation for a mid-level engineer, adjust accordingly for more or less seniority:

- You have 3+ years experience in backend development

- Experience with production Ruby on Rails.

- Speaking German is not a prerequisite, but is helpful

- Interest in learning a new domain: projo contains lots of business logic, which can be fun to learn.

- Empathy for architecture or engineering: we work very closely with some of the coolest architecture companies in Germany

Job overview

We are looking for a Junior/Mid-level Data Engineer to join our small, cozy team. The primary responsibility of this role will be to migrate new customer data from a variety of systems into our system. This position requires basic Python and spreadsheet knowledge. Additionally, German language skills are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

- Be a part of the product and engineering team and collaborate to ensure smooth migration of customer data.

- Work with the onboarding team and customers to gather and understand customer data requirements.

- Own the end-to-end data migration of offices.

- Develop and maintain data pipelines to automate the migration process.

- Debug and fix data issues during migration.

- Continuously improve and automate the data migration process.

Qualifications

- 1+ years of experience in data engineering or similar.

- Basic Python and Excel/Sheets knowledge.

- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

- Strong communication skills.

- German language skills are a strong plus.

- Experience working with SQL databases.

- Git + Github

• Du arbeitest selbstständig und zuverlässig
• Du hast bereits 2+ Jahre Erfahrung im B2B-Bereich, idealerweise in der Software- oder Architekturbranche
• Du kennst wesentliche Marketingkanäle und kannst diese mit deinem analytischen Denken bewerten
• Du bist kreativ und mutig, um unterschiedliche Kanäle auszuprobieren
• Du hast einen hohen visuellen Anspruch und bevorzugst dabei Einfachheit und Klarheit
• Du hast eine ausgeprägte „hands-on-Mentalität“
